Sorry if these colors are blindingly bright. I was experimenting. lol. I wanted to try something summery! I never really get into summer since I don’t really like it and I prefer drawing winter clothes so this is my attempt at something I don’t normally do and also since it’s summer at this point in the story! ^^ Can’t wait until these two become a bit closer. Sorry it’s so slowburn, but I wanted their relationship to develop at least a little realistically. xD
This week’s anime workshop was a success! I had so much fun meeting and talking with everyone and I’m hoping you all learned something from me!! I know our time was limited and I didn’t get to teach you about everything that I wanted to so I have a lot here that I want to leave you with. But first let me post all of the amazing pictures you all finished!
Yay!! <333 Such bright stars on your way! Don’t forget to practice, practice, practice!! J To help you I’ve compiled a list of tutorials and cool stuff. Remember to warm up before tackling big projects!
There are lots of awesome artists out there to learn from so browse, browse, browse! Find what you like and incorporate that into your style! One of my favorite artists and good friend, Salison, is also an art teacher and has a really cool and very helpful series of solutions for making comics which I’ll also post here:
I also have some recommendations for products to use! These are my personal suggestions but remember to always do your own research as well.
Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not a truth.
My personal recommendation for Tablets are Wacom’s Bamboo series or Wacom’s Intuos series. Wacom can get pretty pricey, but these ones are on the cheaper end of their spectrum and work beautifully. I started with a Bamboo Pen and replaced it when the wire shorted which was super sad, but it worked out in the end because I think I prefer the Intuos. Every tablet will feel a bit different so it’s really personal preference.
If that’s still too pricey there are cheaper alternatives! I would shop around and look carefully at the specs. Find one you like and check different websites or stores to find the best price!
And last but not least some programs to draw on!
For digital painting I prefer PaintToolSAI which is relatively cheap and is (in my opinion) MUCH better than Photoshop for this sort of thing. But if you want something free you can also use GIMP which I’ve seen people do amazing stuff on, but personally I find difficult to use.
Oh! And if you want to try your hand at 3D modeling you can download Blender for free! It’s basically what all 3D modeling programs are built off of so you’ll want to look up tutorials or maybe purchase a book to help you. It’s not that easy to learn, but once you get it it’s the best!
I have much more I want to share with you guys, but it’s late and I don’t have a ton of time to make new tutorials…>.> So check back for more updates! I’ll try to start updating again once a week, but things are chaos as always so we’ll see how that goes. Anyway I had so much fun with you all and I hope you had fun with me too! Maybe I’ll see you all again next summer!! <333
