My Love Has a Style

Your emotions wash over me
You are the ocean
and I have been worn down into the finest sand
The anger burns me into glass
Now I am fragile

I can only give my own
You want it painted
But my brush can only stroke as far as my arms stretch
I cannot paint the way that you paint
I have a style

I can’t judge your pain
Though I’m offering so much
I cannot force you to feel the extent of my affection
If you can’t see the gifts that I hand you
I can’t expect you to take them

I use logic to justify
It helps me understand
But it doesn’t make these unwanted feelings go away
It still hurts that I give you love
And it doesn’t reach you

Addict with a Pen

Addict with a Pen

I try desperately to run through the sand
As I hold the water
In the palm of my hand
Cause it’s all that I have
It’s all that I need and
The waves of the water
Mean nothing to me
But I try my best
And all that I can to
Hold tightly onto
What’s left in my hand
But no matter how
How tightly I will strain
The sand will slow me down
And the water will drain

Again I was inspired by my favorite band and drew this in my sketch book on the flight back from Texas. The lady next to me was underlining nearly every sentence in the book she was reading, tapping my lightly and consistently with her elbow at the end of each line. It was annoying but I held my tongue and continued to draw until I was finished and she had the nerve to get me attention with a nudge and tell me it was good. What is wrong with people? Or a better question would be what the hell was she underlining every sentence for?

Kitchen Sink

Kitchen Sink

Nobody thinks what I think,
Nobody dreams when they blink
Think things on the brink of blasphemy
I’m my own shrink
Think things are after me, my catastrophe
At my kitchen sink, you don’t know what that means
Because a kitchen sink to you
Is not a kitchen sink to me, ok friend?
Are you searching for purpose?
Then write something, yeah it might be worthless
Then paint something then, it might be wordless
Pointless curses, nonsense verses
You’ll see purpose start to surface
No one else is dealing with your demons
Meaning maybe defeating them
Could be the beginning of your meaning, friend.

Kitchen Sink by Twenty | One | Pilots

This song, like all their songs, has so much meaning, but it might’ve been the ambient instrumental score that gave me the most inspiration. All I can say is listen to it and you’ll see.
