You Will Be Missed. Always.

As soon as I heard Alan Rickman died I felt very different. Lately a lot of people I admire are dying and it reminds me that we’re moving forward into the future and many of the idols that inspired me as a child are getting old and pretty soon they’ll all be gone. From recent passings like David Bowie to Robin Williams, and Cory Monteith which were just a few within the last few years. It’s really depressing knowing I have to stop looking forward to what they’ll do next.

Alan Rickman is such a memorable actor and Snape is one of my favorite Harry Potter characters that I remember distinctly loving for the way he was portrayed on screen and not because of the books. I always felt like, out of everyone, Alan Rickman really felt this character and poured his all into it and every time I saw him in any film I always felt the same way. I found myself loving him in every roll, but Snape was the hugest for me because I grew up with these films. It’s really hard to see people like that go.

Normally I don’t like to do fanart of live action things, but I made an exception for this. It upsets me that he was so close to his next birthday. Now Snape and Alan are both immortal I suppose. I feel like the end of The Deathly Hallows all over again.

Snape
